"Ha-ank!" I cooed to him, walking up to his stall. He poked his head over his door chewing his hay. "Aww, pretty baybe!" I kissed his muzzled and led him out of his stall onto the cross-ties. I groomed him and tacked him up then led him to the outdoor arena.
I mounted him and started walking him out on the wall. After a lap I asked him to jog, then lope. Eventually I turned him and did the same on the other side when another girl and her horse walked in.

I walked with Kiss to the outdoor arena in western and smiled at the other girl before I mounted. I had already warmed her up by just lunging her-so I jogged her forward easily.

I smiled back at the girl and backed Hank five steps. He did it smoothly and when I turned him he got a bit fidgety although eventually turned. I wanted to get in as much practice as I could because next week were are going to a AQHA approved WP show and we needed the qualifying points.

I transitioned Kiss into a lope, and soon did small circles, wanting for him to loosen up on turns. If we where going to get that Blue ribbon with Barrel racing at the next rodeo coming up-we where going to have to loosen up-loping in circles being a start

I began to lope Hank again and see-sawed the reins in my hands to get him to lower his head. When he did I loosened them and patted his neck in praise. "Good boy." I murmered

A mouse ran out in front of us and Hank spooked, veering to the side. He threw a buck and I was thrown off. "Ugh." I muttered, getting us and brushing off my pants. Hank was prancing to the side. I went over, grabbed his reins, and mounted him again. He was still a bit nervous but overall calm. "Good boy, shhh." I patted his neck and asked him to walk on.
