"Ok, Ventura. I know you hate me, and guess what? I don't care. We're in this to compete, have fun, and win, kay? You work with me and I'll work with you. Deal?" I spoke to her before getting on her back and mounting. I had convinced Kathleen to let me compete in the gaming events on her.
In the arena there were poles set up for us to use. Once I got settled on her back, I got my reins together and warmed her up. As soon as she was ready, I had her lope down the arena and begin the pattern.

Hazel I walked into the area, leading Thief. His head was held high and his gait quick. "Easy," I mumbled turned in the door. Thief saw another horse and whinnied, crow hopping. "No," I said firmly, lowered his head. He snorted and pranced foreword as I led him around the arena.

Ventura weaved around the poles, breaking gait a lot. I had to keep my leg on her so she would actually lope around the poles instead of doing her little gait.

I glanced at the ammeter doing pools. I sighed to myself at her (if that makes sense) and halted Thief. He tossed his head, but I managed to get on despite his prancing. As soon as I sat in the saddle, he trotted foreword. I halted him. "No." I said firmly, dismounting, then doing it again. After a few more times, he stayed.

I turned her and tried the pattern, this time galloping her down the arena. When she turned and started going around the poles she tried to do her gait yet again but after a few kicks she finally kept at a lope

The other horse started galloping. Thief reared up. I leaned foreword, bringing him back to earth. He pranced, tossing his head and bucking a little. I smacked his butt with my crop and he danced foreword, his head held high, his ears foreword. I squeezed his sides and he trotted foreword choppily.

Ventura turned around the last pole, and I kicked her into a gallop as she ran down the side of the poles. I patted her neck, encouraging her. As we neared the end, I slowed her and she did a little hop. I turned her around towards the poles and began weaving her around them.

Good God, get some class, I thought, seeing the other girl. I rolled my eyes and lowered Theif's head. He bucked but I stayed planted in my saddle, urging him foreword.
